Camping Bella Terra was present at the second edition of the Girocamping PRO congress

The event, organized by the Girona Campsites Association, brought together 27 companies from the sector in the Palau de Congresos de Girona, 17% more than in the previous edition.

On Wednesday 25 September, the second edition of the Girocamping PRO, the professional tourism and camping congress in Girona, was held in the Palau de Congressos de Girona. The day organized by the Girona Campsites Association was attended by 400 tourism professionals, including representatives from Camping Bella Terra, located in the city of Blanes, who recently received the TripAdvisor certificate of excellence as additional hotel accommodation no. 1 from the municipality of Girona.

Topics of general tourist interest were discussed during the day, including the impact of climate change and “brexit” on tourism.

‘There is no doubt that we are concerned about the effects of climate change in our sector. For example, a very high percentage of our campers come from of the Northern European market. The rise in temperature all over the world, and especially on the European continent, can cause such tourists to no longer make a long journey, because they can enjoy the warm weather without leaving their country,’ says Vicenç Fernández, Director of the Camping Bella Terra, which adds the possibility of ‘reconsidering tourist proposals in the long term and giving preference to proximity tourism’.

This temperature rise in the months of September and October is also seasonal, because it creates the possibility of extending the season. As a result, Camping Bella Terra will extend the season to October 12 next year.
